About The Event

Four speakers from Essex Mind and Spirit, Inter-Faith Forums and the Essex County Council will present ‘snap shots’ of how they and many others have cooperated together to work on a coordinated approach to supporting different faith and BAME communities, and those most vulnerable and at-risk as a result of COVID-19. 

They will also showcase the work of Essex Mind and Spirit and the Essex Faith Covenant which seek to bring together many faiths and partner organisations to network and share best practices, and support holistically those living with mental ill-health. 

Speakers Bio's: 

  • Rev/d Canon Ivor Moody is Vice Dean and Canon Pastor of Chelmsford Cathedral since 2010. He is also Chaplain to Essex County Council, Chair of the Mid Essex Inter-Faith Forum, Chair of Essex Mind, and Spirit and Chair of the Essex Faith Covenant. Ivor is a trustee of the National Spiritual and Mental Health Forum. 
  • Andrew Lowing and Caroline Ellis are both Senior Equalities and Partnership Advisors at Essex County Council (ECC).  He is secretary to the Essex Faith Covenant. Both Andrew and Caroline have been integral to the Faith and Communities Tactical Coordination Group which was set up at the beginning of the pandemic, to support faith communities and the BAME communities in Essex and East London, and those most vulnerable in the lockdowns.
  • Sidra Naeem is secretary to Essex Mind and Spirit, the co-ordinator of the South Essex EMS Cluster group, and has been a Deputy Lord Lieutenant. She is also secretary of Havering Inter-Faith Forum, and a member of the Mid Essex Inter-Faith Forum.

The event is free of charge.

The waiting room will be open from 6:15 pm and then the event will start at 6:30 pm prompt. The event will end at 7:30 pm, to allow time for questions and reflections.
